Dad's Broken Bone

Dad broke his fibula on Sunday night near the ankle. This is the smaller bone on the outside of the leg.

What a beautiful story of computer dedication. He was transporting his laptop downstairs when his socked foot slipped on the the carpeted stairs. He sacrificed his fibula for the laptop, and now, he gets a cast at 5 p.m. today!

In this picture, he's sleeping on the Aerobed (okay, hiding) in our family room. He hasn't slept upstairs for 2 nights. I'll post another picture with the cast. And yes, that's the laptop. :-)

POOR Jim! Good thing that didn't happen while he had Matthew by himself over the past weekend! Can you imagine Matthew being in charge?! I can and it's a scary thought!

OUCH...poor Jim! Hope you don't have to use crutches....it will be so much harder to carry that laptop! Isn't is amazing what we'll sacrifice for our technology????

All I can say is where there's a will, there's a way. That laptop can easily be put in a carrying case and slung over the shoulder, crutches or no!! I sure carried my fair share of stuff up our stairs like that once I could go back upstairs. I did, do, however, hate crutches to this day!!!

Poor Jim....What a painful experience but hey, the laptop is okay. :))))

I guess I should say that last comment was from me!!!

I can completely sympathize with Jim! They had to break both my tibula and fibula when I had that awful illazarov on my leg!

Thanks, husband! You've done your share of "Will you please"s for me!

You sacrificed a limb for a Mac laptop? What a waste. Now, if it had been a PC or Linux laptop, I would understand, but a Mac? Jimmy....we need to talk.

Boy, just seeing that Ilazarov again and reading the way they do that procedure made my skin crawl!! Glad Jim didn't have to have an external fixator on his leg!!
