Our little boy is growing up! (Hee hee.) Today we switched him from an infant car seat to a convertible seat that we will eventually face forward and he will use as a toddler. The Frederick Wellness Center offers free appointments twice a month to teach parents how to properly install a seat. It turns out that we weren't properly fastening the shoulder straps. They were
too loose and the harness was too low. His head was almost at the one inch limit that requires you move to a new car seat, so now was a good time to change seats.
The instructor not only installed the new seat, but showed us how to do it ourselves. We took both vehicles, so that we won't only know how to do it well in the Durango. And, she also recommended I fly with the infant carrier next week instead of the new seat. It's easier and fits right onto the stroller.
Here are some other pictures:Measuring for shoulder straps
Getting strapped in by Dad for first time
A pat on the head for being a good boy
New problem (having to wake them up to get out of the seat).
