Bath Mishap

Matthew's pretty good with baths these days. I mean, he can be trusted to be left alone a little as I do small chores upstairs while he is playing. A couple of weeks ago, I heard this horrible scream while I was folding some clothes in the laundry room.

I ran into the bathroom scared at what I would see. Matthew was in a panic, shouting, "I thwoed my fwoggy in the potty! Ewwwwwww!"

Here's what he normally looks like.

New Bath Soap

We bought some new bubble bath, and Matthew loves it so much, he couldn't wait to get undressed! "Mamo Bubbo Bath" I asked him three nights ago if he wanted to take a bubble bath (leaving downstairs, where we were playing). He said no. As soon as I showed him the ELMO bubble bath, he said "Oookkayyyy" and immediately went upstairs and tried to climb into the tub, even with his clothes on. It has a little spongy toy of Elmo's face you can take into the water. He loves that too.

Frog Soap, Part II

This is what you get when you cross soft water, foaming frog soap, and a tired mom who isn't supervising enough. Matthew was quietly standing on his stool at the sink when I found him. Bubbles were everywhere, all the way up to his elbows. Click the picture for a larger view. Unfortuntely it was taken with my phone, so the quality isn't the best.

Frog Soap

In an effort to trick Matthew into washing his hands, I've discovered Pampers Kandoo--a foaming handwash, complete with a big green frog on the container. As you can imagine, he's highly enthused, often running to the bathroom shouting "Fraw! Fraw!" whenever his hands are obviously dirty. If he's already washed his hands, he'll go to the bathroom shouting "Moe Fraw! Moe Fraw!" I tell ya. He LOVES this stuff. Now, if I could only stop him from splashing it everywhere!

Sink Fun

Matthew had a lot of fun in the bath the other day, enjoying the faucet. In the background, you will hear an alarm. I couldn't leave him to turn it off.

Watch the video now. (On Google...requires no special software.) 1:24 minutes.

Biiiiiig Bathtub

Poor Matthew wouldn't sit down in the big bathtub. When we SAT him down, he cried. It's a very large tub--great for a man, scary for a little guy like Matthew. You can sort of see the distress in his face. Sort of. I just hope he adjusts to it before the first grade. For a while longer, we better stick to the sink.

Splish Splash

Yesterday Matthew took a bath. I confess that I've been giving him sponge baths lately, because a) he seems crowded in the baby tub, and b) it's easier, especially easier to get the soap off. However, I decided to bring out the tub yesterday and he couldn't stop splashing. No giggles, but boy, he sure did study that water. He ended up with water everywhere. Here you can see it on his face.
