Teaching VBS

I've never done this, but this year God wanted me to teach VBS. Matthew is in the 3-5 year old group and is having a ball. I can manage to not see him most of the morning, but during the closing assembly, he sees me because I'm typically only 1-2 rows back.

I'm teaching the 1st and 2nd graders. What a new thing. I have almost no experience with these kids. It's okay, however, God is helping me to get things across.

You are welcome to go to this blog and see what's going on in my class. The link is

We too are in the midst of our VBS Beach Party. We are surfing through the Scriptures. It is such an awesome and amazing experience. Jonah is in the 3-yr old class (we have 2 of them) and LOVES it! His favorite time is the Bible scene -- older members of our church dress up and act out scenes from the Bible related to that day's lesson.

I am in the Craft Shack. I like it because you see different kids all day. I've been a shepherd -- like what you are doing, but that is a tough job! I had 31 1st graders the year I did it. Of course I had helpers, but still!

May you have continued success and fullfilment this week! I know God is blessing these children by giving them such a wonderful leader!!

Oh -- you can see photos from our VBS activities at our church website www.aumc.org -- there's a link to the VBS page on the main page.
