Matthew Ate Broccoli

Oh my, I just had to post. This happened just now--Matthew ate broccoli and LIKED IT!!

Matthew had his usual PB&J and applesauce and milk. I had some ramen noodles with broccoli. Matthew saw the noodles he sometimes has and said, "I want noodoh, Mama. Can I have noodoh?" Sure, I said, and gave him some noodles, sneaking in a tiny piece of broccoli.

He saw the broccoli and said, "I try broccoli." :He put it in his mouth and said, "mmmmmm! That's goooood." I said, "You like that?" He said, "Yeah, I like that a lot. More?" I gave several small pieces one at a time to not overwhelm him. He ate them all and repeatedly asked for more. I asked him if he wanted him to make more for dinner and he said yes.

This is very good! On both Friday and Saturday he ate various kinds of fruit including, strawberry, pineapple, blueberries, and melon. Wow...what's happening?! I don't know but I like it!

How exciting. Can Brussels sprouts be far off?

I believe that would be also known as 'brussel ickies'!

Shane should see this!!! He won't eat anything green unless it's salad!

Good for Matthew!!!

I didn't think of Brussel ickies! What a great idea. Like little heads of lettuce. As for salad, Matthew won't eat THAT, but he'll eat peas and now broccoli!!

Have you tried to give him brick bats (mashed potatoes) yet? Brussel ickies & brick bats used to be our favorite meal...!!

He's had mashed potatoes, but with the ickies, what an interesting idea! Keith, you got that?! That sounds really good, Debi. Why do you call them brick bats??!

Mom's mashed potatoes were sometimes a little 'stiffer' than they should have been. I remember Bob saying one time that we could hit bricks with them - so the brick bats stuck. Mom's cooking abilitiy was my inspiration!!
