Matthew actually ate spaghetti 2 days ago. In the past, he's had ravioli, then penne, and now, linguine. I (we) are trying not to make big deals of his eating...just give him what we're eating, with plenty of "mmmm" noises that Matthew sometimes imitates.
At first he wasn't sure about the linguine, but after a point, he did his little mm, mm, mm, reaching out. That meant that he wanted some. He rarely spits out what he begs for; somehow he knows what he wants!
