Well, the three of us took off for a few days to the Virginia mountains. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, but perhaps Matthew considered it an adventure. We went to a lake, a pool, (see his swimpants in the picture?) and he sat in the bathtub like a big boy. Despite the new activities, he also had a chance to lounge around watching his usual video once or twice. The surf & sun had him tuckered out pretty early most days.

Well, he was eight months old last week, when we first took him to the pool. We didn't linger long, mainly because Matthew didn't seem to like the cold water and bright sun! As for sun exposure, Water Babies recommends you consult a pediatrician for children 6 mos and younger, and the only thing I know about germs is what they said in the beginning-avoid others picking up your baby during the first 8 weeks. One recommendation: Huggies swim pants! Functional & *very* cute.
