We bought Matthew a little floaty device. At first, he was unsure he liked it, but after several minutes, he was a real pro--smiling while we dragged him through the water. While you can't see it here, the "boat" has a small seat, perfect for children 6 - 18 months.

At least he acts like he likes the water unlike his Mommy when our Dad put her in the water the first time! Anybody remember those pictures???
