Okay, I'm really bad. I had intended to wait until January 2006 to have Matthew's 2nd year checkup, since insurance seemed to run out for well baby appointments. So, I actually never DID go to Matthew's 2 year well baby appointment. So, when he was almost 3 my conscience made me stop in to make an appointment and they didn't have an appointment available for 3 months! So, yesterday, January 3, Matthew had both of his 2 & 3 year checkups. The nurse said "better late than never" and the doctor said, "well, he must've been doing fine", and he has been. His weight is 33 pounds (35th percentile) and he's 39 inches tall (50th percentile). During his last appointment in May 2006, at about 18 months, he protested being on the baby scale, but this time his eyes were gleaming as he he stood curiously on the big person's scale and stood against the wall to measure his height. Thankfully, he was all caught up on shots and needed none. Whew! The doctor said that he'll definitely receive shots at his 4 year appointment.
I don't have a picture of the event, but here is a picture taken shortly afterwards. And yes, he's doing a "hair pop".

As long as Matthew has had all his necessary shots and is as healthy as we know him to be, why feel bad about not taking him??? My kids were sick all the time and had to go to the doctor! At least Matthew is a healthy little guy!! Don't feel bad.
