Matthew is thrilled with this music box, given to me by my dad on his last Christmas in 1996. The little black kitty on top is meant to be Pepper. Matthew found it in my night stand and came running, exclaiming, "Look Mama! Music box!" He opened it, and it played its little Memories song from the musical Cats. He even knows it's from "Grandpa". He considers it to be very special and keeps it away "safe" at certain times. But he did take it to Grandma's house yesterday and it was the first thing he said to her.

I sure wish "grandpa" had lived to see him! Do you show Matthew pictures of Dad so he knows who you guys are talking about? I'm not sure, however, that Pepper would be happy being referred to as "black ike"!! Matthew is saying so many more words and sentences now - you can sure see that in these recent videos!

Yes. I DO show him pictures. I have their picture in his little soft "Who Loves Baby" book. Theirs is the last. Yes, his language is definitely getting more advanced. He surprises us.
