Whew, what an ordeal! It took 4 total days, and if 3 more days had elapsed, our domain (jimandtracy.net) would have been in a much more difficult state to renew. In fact, we might have had to wait 70 days. So I was on the phone repeatedly--on hold, and it's a good thing we have voice over IP with free long distance, cause it was a toll call!
It's hard to blame any specific person*, the entire process is messed up, but at least nobody ELSE can steal our domain name! :-)
*We decided to blame this man, after all. Hee hee.
