We had special visitors this weekend for the Cherry Blossom Festival--Aunt Betsy & Uncle Don. On Saturday we took the trek down via the Metro (you saw this) and walked around all over. First past the Washington Monument, then to the WWII Memorial, then onto the Tidal Basin on the way to the Jefferson Memorial. At one point, we even went to Union Station! :-) I love this festival, since it's full of people in good moods taking many pictures with the blossoms.
The weather was warm or a tad chilly, depending upon the sun. It was also very, very windy, which made for some discomfort for us and Matthew. Poor Matthew got pretty sick, starting on Saturday & continuing through Tuesday. He's still recuperating. If anyone wants to come next year, let us know! The 2007 Festival will be March 31 - April 15.
Here are some pics:
- Picture of all of us near Washington Monument (I'm worried because we're holding up traffic & Matthew has only 1 shoe on. Can't I ever just relax?)

Cool pics. Did I ever tell you that I almost got left at the Jefferson Memorial. Senior band trip, in DC for 1 day. I had been shopping for shirts for my boyfriend, got to the memorial late, and the bus almost left without me!
Love ya!
