So much has happened and if you're HERE, you probably know it, so I guess I don't need to update you NOW! :-) So, I'll start from TODAY.

Here's a picture of our little Nathan being content. Now, for several days, he has not been content, and I'll try not to be too graphic. He wasn't going #2 very often. Say, every 36 hours. However, since the consistency was good, it is not constipation but something else. He has been unhappy, like he HAS to go to the bathroom.

That's what took me to the doctor today. There is good news. He's still going #1 and he's gaining weight wonderfully (8 lbs 11 oz), but he's gassy & seems very unhappy. Now, when I nursed Matthew it was great & everything worked. With Nathan, I just can't put my head down like that anymore and nursing's out. I am pumping and giving from a bottle some, but primarily he's getting formula.

Doc says we're going to try "reflux precautions". He's going into week 3, she said, when many babies become very aware of their GI tract. So since he seems to find relief being raised over the shoulder, we'll keep doing that, and we'll feed a little less but more often, and we're switching from Similac Advance Early Shield to Similac Sensitive. We will also use a little wedge.

Whew, nursing was so much easier in many ways! I THOUGHT I'd feel more confident with Baby 2, but not yet!! :-)
