Conversing Over Cookies

Matthew had a serious conversation this afternoon at McDonald's with a boy named Charlie, while both of them were eating chocolate chip cookies.

Charlie:
When you lose your tooth, you is growing up.
Matthew: But when you lose your tooth, you get a BIGGER tooth.
Charlie: (Not sure, because I was writing this! :-)
Matthew: Do you know Landry? (Neighbor) Landry lose her tooth in front--right here.
Charlie: My girlfriend is 5 but I am 4.
Matthew: I am 4 too! I was free (3), but now I'm 4!!
Charlie: Girls don't like chocolate chip cookies.

Later on, the two discussed how Charlie could come to our house. Matthew told him to go up the hill and look for the yellow house. Charlie thought he might come for Matthew's birthday, but Matthew said he couldn't cause it was too far away. Too many days, but he could bring a present if he wanted. Matthew offered that Charlie come after the nap, but Charlie said he couldn't, pointing to his grandpa. "That guy's taking me to my mom's house."

Leave it to kids and their innocence! If only you could keep him that way for a long time!
