Every so often, Ike gets shaved. This year it was especially good, since he had several large mats. Here's his "before" picture in 2003 at left. The "after" picture is on the right. 
On the way there Matthew instructed Ike, who was in his crate and who does not like to travel. Matthew kept saying "Uh Ike! It's okay, Ike. Meow, meow." And so on.
Here's a video taken the other day, after his shave.

"our little ike godsey" of THE WALTON'S fame (the Walton's now no longer on the Hallmark Channel from 8:00 - l0:00 a.m. - BOO!). I think he looks very handsome in his summer cut!

Poor Ike. I'm glad I'm a short-hair, so I don't have to go get shaved. Chin up; it will grow back. And I am sooooo with you on the crate thing. It seems like every time Mom forces me in there, I go somewhere where I get poked and stuck and prodded in places you shouldn't speak about in polite company.

Yes, boo to the Waltons being taken off. I should've said in my e-mail to Hallmark that I even named my cat after Ike Godsey!
