Eating Update

Okay, this should have been posted last week, but we're in the middle of moving! Matthew is in the weaning process and learning to eat chunkier food, drink formula from a cup, and use his spoon. He bites down on the spoon and then grabs it and won't let go. He seems to think he knows what to do, but as you can see from this picture, he doesn't! Mom & Dad still play a big role. He now nurses one time--around 5:30 a.m., and at the other times he either gets formula from a cup or put into his cereal. He will switch to whole cow's milk on his 1st birthday.

As for food, he has been getting some small chicken chuncks, crackers, toast, halfed Cheerios, and french fries. (Not too many of those!) He doesn't seem to like hamburger and gags on baby spaghetti and lasagna. He has a mean gag reflex. He's been taking the cup well at the 3:30 snack time.

Ah well-I see he already thinks he knows something better than Mom and Dad!!! (the spoon) Sounds great that he's learning to eat different "big boy" stuff!
