Another doctor's visit and all is still very well with Matthew. Unfortunately, I didn't take the camera to capture him crying on the scale, so I decided to show a recent picture that represents him well. As you can see, these days he leaves quite a trail behind him. The well baby information sheet we receive with each appointment states, "9 month olds have a lot of energy, and it takes a lot of energy to keep up with them. Get plenty of rest." :-) The smiley is mine--I know this already!
His stats: weight is 18 lbs, 6 oz, still about 25 percentile. That's okay, the doctor says. If he were off the charts (like 3% and below) she'd be worried, or if there was a sudden change. Height is still between 50-70%, at 28.5 inches. It would seem as though he's going to play basketball. His head circumference is 45 cm, slightly above average. View his growth chart.
Everything checked out well. The doctor asked me several questions about eating and sleeping, all of which Matthew seems to be doing well. We did converse about more solid foods, like crackers and Cheerios. We can give him these, along with food with that's a bit chunkier. No shots this time. I had the choice between getting his polio that day or at 15 months. I let him have the day off.
The next doctor's appointment is at 12 months! Wow--hard to believe.

Just remember Sarah was 20 pounds at a year. I don't think Matthew is so far off either!!
Love the trail behind him. Hope you can rest sometimes!
