It was fun to do it for ourselves, after years of watching other parents. Matthew was charming (we thought so, anyway), all dressed in a cottony blue bear outfit given to him by one of our church members. We tried to let the pastor hold him, but it didn't last too long until Matthew began protesting. As always, he had to study the situation, this time by grabbing/observing my necklace and also the flower given to me. While our pastor prayed, Matthew joined in with what seemed to be an entire baby conversation. (Perhaps it only seemed that way to us.) The church gave him a certificate & cute little New Testament. Baby Dedication
Yesterday, we dedicated Matthew to the Lord. It was an exciting day, as Jim and I affirmed the charge read by our pastor that we would do our best to train Matthew in the things of God and model godly behavior. Our church was asked to commit to a similar charge.

Wouldn't your Mom and Dad have been proud to see this day?! He looks so cute and you two parents look so proud, too. Congratulations to all 3 of you.
